Live to Drink 100!

Verd1There are scads of different grape varietals out there in the world, and it would seem that nearly all of them are made into wine somewhere in the world.

I came across this fun web site the other day called the Wine Century Club. To join the club, all you have to do is submit an application saying that you have tasted wine made from 100 different varietals. Blends are OK, the point is that you have tasted them!

Download their application and see how many you have tried! You might be surprised.

I worked my way through their list and determined that I had actually tasted 44 so far. I can't decide if I am amazed I have tried so many or dismayed that I have tried so few...

The good news is that Twisted Oak is here to help. Our wines (current releases and planned releases) use one or more of these 16 different varietals:

  • Albarino
  • Cabernet Sauvignon
  • Carignan (coming soon!)
  • Graciano (coming soon!)
  • Grenache
  • Grenache Blanc (coming soon!)
  • Marsanne
  • Mourvedre
  • Petit Verdot
  • Petite Sirah
  • Rolle (coming soon!)
  • Roussanne
  • Syrah
  • Tempranillo
  • Touriga Nacional (coming soon!)
  • Verdelho (pictured above)
  • Viognier

As far as the rest... when I find a source for Assyrtiko, Bombino Bianco, Cserzegi Fuszeres, Frappato, Gaglioppo, Gros Manseng, Pigato, Uva de Troia, or Xynomavro - I'll let you know!
